Madagascar:
The Special Electoral Court (CES) officially announced the presidential election results:
Dr Jean Louis Robinson received 21% of the votes; followed by Mr Hery Ranaonarimampianina with 16% of the votes . These two candidates will now run against each other in the second round of elections scheduled to take place on 20 December 2013.
Mozambique:
The results of the municipal elections held on 20 November are still being collated and will also have to be verified by the National Elections Commission (CNE) and finally validated and proclaimed by the Constitutional Council. There were no major incidents of violence during the elections.
